A Little Taste of Who We Are . . .

At Epicurean Exchange Culinary Travel, we believe to fully appreciate the culture of a country, it is discovered through its food traditions and cuisine. We explore our unique destinations by immersing our groups in the foods and traditions of the cultures we visit. Each of our travel itineraries is meticulously infused with authentic culinary experiences and a collection of cultural interactions designed to make each traveler feel like a local by learning where food is grown and who produces it, who and how it is prepared, and the unique traditions of gathering and sharing meals together. Check out the Information Circle below to see what we’re all about!

Boutique

Our trips are always boutique in nature; small groups, with no more than 12 guests per tour.

5-Star

We stay in exclusive 5-star villas, private homes, and other boutique hotels; most with private ensuite baths.

Local Culture

We “live” at our destinations, getting to know the locals and the flavor of their culture through small, intimate walks, tours and visits.

Custom

We take part in custom, off-the-beaten-path experiences, including cooking classes, wine tastings, and farm visits. We seek out the best of the best to truly understand the soul of a culture and the people who create and live in their unique places in the world.

Exciting

We offer once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences for those who may have traveled the world, but are ready to share a full-service experience without all the planning and decision-making that travel often requires. We anticipate our client’s interests and strive to create itineraries that engage, entertain, and excite!

New

We are always looking for new travel opportunities and occasions for our travelers to learn and grow.

Food & Wine

Although food and wine are usually how we begin and end our days, we include other cultural elements in all of our tours.

No Kitchen Experience Necessary

And, although cooking is certainly a major focus of our tours, no kitchen experience is necessary. All we ask for is a willingness to participate. And, we can’t promise to make you a master chef in one week, but you will learn A LOT and take home lasting memories of our time together.

All-Inclusive

Our tours are all-inclusive, from the time we meet at the designated airport until we drop you off for your departures, everything (unless otherwise noted) is arranged and included.

Value

Our tours are a travel value and have some of the highest-rated reviews from our repeat clients (some who have travelled with us for up to 6 times), and who are some of the most well-travelled and experienced globe-trotters.

YOUR CULINARY GUIDE
CHEF CHARLIE

Chef Charlie Vollmar

For over 25 years, I have been an independent chef, cooking instructor, recipe and food writer, culinary travel guide, and owner of Epicurean Exchange Culinary Travel. My work has always been led by purpose: to not just teach, but offer quality, skills and life-affirming moments; to not just travel, but open the world to its personalities and possibilities; to not just inform, but to inspire to learn and grow with knowledge and perspective. To make the lives of our readers better, richer. And in turn, this is paid forward to their families, friends, communities and the places they call home in this world.
